As a Canadian immigration technology company and an end-to-end student immigration service provider, we are dedicated to simplifying the immigration and educational journey for individuals or businesses, primarily from Africa, seeking opportunities in Canada.

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative, critical-thinking UI/UX Designer who can turn ideas into fully fleshed-out, user-centric digital products. Beyond design, you will be instrumental in shaping the product experience from conception to delivery. You will work closely with the CEO and other team leads, taking product ideas and transforming them into functional, intuitive, and visually appealing interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Lead end-to-end UI/UX design efforts, from brainstorming and concept development to high-fidelity prototypes and final designs.
  • Critical Thinking: Take broad product ideas from leadership, critically analyze them, and flesh out detailed product concepts and flows without needing exhaustive direction.
  • Prototyping: Create interactive prototypes to visualize design ideas and collaborate with development teams for smooth handoffs.
  • Product Documentation: Develop comprehensive product documents (user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and personas) that clearly outline the product vision, design rationale, and user experience strategy.
  • Frontend Development: Frontend development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) will be an added advantage, especially in creating code-based static pages to bring designs to life.
  • User Research: Conduct user research, usability tests, and data analysis to inform design decisions, ensuring the product aligns with user needs.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure pixel-perfect designs that meet high-quality standards while considering responsiveness and accessibility.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and product leads, to ensure the best user experience is integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Iterative Design: Be open to feedback and iterate on designs to continuously improve user interfaces and experiences.
  • Self-Starter: Operate independently, proactively identifying product design challenges and proposing innovative solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience of 2years as a UI/UX Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work across mobile and web platforms.
  • Proficiency in UI/UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JS) to communicate effectively with development teams.
  • Excellent prototyping skills using tools like Figma, InVision, or Adobe XD.
  • Demonstrated ability to create product documents such as wireframes, personas, journey maps, and user flows.
  • Experience with user testing and analytics tools.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to take high-level ideas and flesh them out into well-rounded, thoughtful products.
  • A meticulous eye for detail and consistency.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment.
