*Role Brief*
The Managing Director of the Asset Management (AM) is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the asset management subsidiary of the Bank . The MD is tasked with driving the strategic vision of the firm, overseeing investment management operations, and ensuring that AM delivers superior value to its clients, investors, and stakeholders.
The MD will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, risk management, and the achievement of financial targets while maintaining a culture of excellence and ethical standards. The role requires a deep understanding of asset management, infrastructure finance, risk management, and investment strategies.
*Key Result Areas*
1. Lead the development and execution of AM’s business strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader objectives of the Bank as it relates to infrastructure assets and asset classes.
2. Drive the introduction and launch of the Bank Infrastructure fund
3. Oversee the firm’s investment and fund management strategies, including the development of asset allocation models, risk management frameworks, and performance measurement tools.
4. Oversee the financial performance of the AM, ensuring profitability, revenue growth, and cost control in line with the firm’s financial targets.
5. Identify suitable candidates for board positions, ensure diversity in board membership, and determine the appropriate composition of board members.
6. Drives operationalization of policies to maintain compliance with statutory laws and regulatory policies.
*Qualifications and Experience*
– Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Admin., Accounting, or a related field, plus a Postgraduate qualification, preferably an MBA.
– Minimum of twenty (20) years of relevant experience with at least 5 years at the executive management level.
– Experience in Asset Management is very expedient.
– Relevant Professional qualification required e.g. (CIBN, CFA, CIM, ACA, ACCA, ICAN, CIoD) etc.
– Sponsored Individual registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
– Strong management and leadership skills.
– Proven track record of successfully managing investment portfolios and executing complex investment transaction.
– Working knowledge of Business infrastructure and MS Office tools.
